Buffy (Aust CH Clekarn Divine)

Aust CH Clekarn Divine (Buffy), not the vampire slayer, but a gentle Collie slayer in the show ring, is divine by name, nature and construction! Buffy was born on 10 April 1998. She has a most impressive pedigree with both Ch Cnocmoy Mr Aristocrat (Bodie), the foundation of the Clekarn line, and Ch Cnocmoy Noble Liege (Doyle) a product of a repeat mating that produced Bodie, behind her. Her mother is Ch Clekarn The Socialite.
From the moment we laid eyes on Buffy as a baby puppy we knew we must have her one day! We were thrilled when finally in April 2001, her breeders, Marie and Bruce Heath, decided we could have her! Buffy had been shown rarely in her three years with them. However in those rare showings she had notched up some impressive wins including Reserve Challenge at the Collie Club of New South Wales Championship Show October 1998, and Intermediate in Show at the Australian National Collie Show in Sydney in June 2000, under judge Mr Hugh Jones (UK). Days before we acquired Buffy she won Reserve Challenge Bitch under judge Mr Kenneth Edh of Sweden at the 2001 Sydney Royal Dog Show. We did not show her till late June 2001, but in two weekends of showing she achieved 50 points towards her Australian Championship, including being awarded RU Best of Breed to her kennel mate Hamish, and Best Australian Bred in Working Group under Mr D W Fleitas (USA) at the QLD Combined Canine Council's Federation Show in Brisbane in June 2001. The next day she was awarded Best of Breed under Mr C V Sudarsan (India) at the QLD CCC Australian Challenge Show in Brisbane! Upon her return to the show ring in September 2001, Buffy was awarded Best in Group, at the Nimbin Agricultural and Industrial Society All Breeds Championship Show under Mrs M Watson (WA). Buffy attained her Aust CH on 20 October 2001.
Buffy had her first litter on 19 June 1999 with our Hamish, Ch Letchworth Balintorfern. We have a beautiful tri-coloured boy from that litter, Shadow, (Clekarn Black Thunder), who lives with close family in Brisbane.
From her second litter with Grand CH Myoene Macalister (bred by Helen Cramer and owned by Maria Thomas of Lamerton Collies), born on 15 June 2003, we still have with us her daughter, Katie (Balinfern Simply Devine), and her son Angus (Aust CH Balinfern Divine Gift).
Buffy has retired from the show ring and spends her days with her two children Katie and Angus, and her grandchildren Fergus and Ally.
