Patrick Migliaccio and Peter Cook welcome you to Balinfern Collies and hope you enjoy your visit with us! At Balinfern we do not distinguish in our hearts or minds between the collies we exhibit in the show ring, and those we don't. They all live as a part of our family!
Balinfern Collies so far...
 Priscilla (Letchworth Watch Me) born 1 September 1994 and who left us 26 July 2004, was our first collie. Priscilla came to live with us as a pet and had a wonderfully gregarious nature and instantly won the heart of everyone she met. We soon fell in love with the breed! Priscilla's passing has left a huge hole in our lives and there is not a single day we do not think of her. |
 Hamish (BIS BISS Aust CH Letchworth Balintore Fern) was our first show dog. Born 11 June 1997, he has had great success in the show ring with BIS and BISS wins along with numerous BIG and other in group awards. Hamish's friendly nature and amazing gentleness towards people makes him the 'softie' of the 'older' generation at Balinfern. He entered the show ring at the 10th Australian National Collie Show in Sydney in May 2009 at the age of 12 to the great acclaim of the assembled crowd and judges and was run off with the winning dog for Reserve Ch Dog in Show! This in an entry of 87 collie rough dogs! |
 Bella (Aust CH Letchworth Bellezza) was our first 'show' girl! Born on 28 June 1999, she has the same loving nature as Priscilla and Hamish, together with amazing courage, intelligence, playfulness and ingenuity. She loved the show ring and was a pleasure to handle in the ring. After a near fatal accident in June 2003, Bella has now retired and spends her time with her children Benny and Utah, and grandchildren Fergus and Ally. |
 Buffy (Aust CH Clekarn Divine) born on 10 April 1998, came to live with us in April 2001, shortly after she had won Reserve Challenge Bitch at the 2001 Sydney Royal Dog Show! Buffy has an effortless classic collie movement and is a really gentle lady. She had been rarely shown, but we titled her to Australian Champion after only a few months and a few shows! Buffy is a lady of leisure now spending her days with her children Angus and Katie, and grandchildren Fergus and Ally. |

 Angus (Aust CH Balinfern Divine Gift), comes from a mating between our Buffy, and Grand CH Myoene Macalister. He was born on 15 June 2003. He has an amazingly gently nature even for a collie. He fathered his first litter with our Carla (Aust CH Balinfern Prima Donna). The litter was born on 14 May 2007. Like his mother Buffy he was a dream to show and loved the show ring. |
 Benny (Balinfern Way Ahead) born 27 January 2001 from a mating of Hamish and Bella was no fan of the showring although he won four Baby Puppy in Group awards. He is his father Hamish's best mate and they spend most days together guarding Balinfern. |
 Utah (Aust CH Balinfern Golden Laddie) born 27 January 2001 from a mating of Hamish and Bella had a promising show ring career, but due to the nature of his first home unfortunately did not reach his show ring potential. Thankfully he returned to live at Balinfern in late 2007 and has once again become a part of Hamish, Bella and Buffy's extended family here. Utah has responded so well to his new home with us that he re-entered the show ring in late 2009, some 7 years since his last show experience! In six months of infrequent showing he easily gained his CH title with numerous BOB awards and two RUIG awards! |
 Katie (Balinfern Simply Divine) comes from a mating between our Buffy, and Grand CH Myoene Macalister. She was born on 15 June 2003. She has a retiring and gently nature with a beautiful collie gait and even though she picked up a number of Baby Puppy in Group awards was not suited to the showring. |
 Ally (Aust CH Balinfern Allegra) is from a mating of Angus and Carla and was born on 14 May 2007. After limited showing, she gained her last points for the award of Aust CH on 7 March 2009. We look forward to lots more fun in the show ring with this sweet little girl who is developing into a beautiful collie bitch. |
 Fergus (Aust CH Balinfern Fearguis), Ally's brother, is from a mating of Angus and Carla and was born on 14 May 2007. With several in Group awards including Best in Group and multiple RUBIG already, we hope to have fun with this little man who is so full of himself! He gained his final points for award of Aust CH on 8 May 2009. |
